Harford House (map) is a renovated series of adjoined rowhouses located on North Avenue in the Oliver neighborhood. Since opening in 1994, Harford House has served homeless men, helping them to develop their job skills, financial responsibility, health and wellness.
GEDCO is responsible for the overall operations of Harford House, including
the supportive services program.
SUPPORTIVE SERVICES
At Harford House, each resident is required to meet with an onsite Advocacy Counselor, who:
- Assesses each resident's history
- Helps design an individual goal and action plan for success
- Monitors the individual's progress, adjusting when necessary
COLLABORATIVE APPROACH
A hallmark of our supportive services program is our collaborative approach. We work closely with other organizations to provide our residents with needed workshops and services including:
- Health screening and education sessions
- Cooking classes
- Computer and paper-based tutoring
